Rubber Mallet CNC machine

The "Rubber Mallet CNC", or "Mallet CNC" is a 3d cartesian robot design made of tightly fitting parts that interlock together to form a structure that holds itself without the need of fasteners. The parts are meant to be cut on an existing CNC machine like a shopbot.
It is a desktop hobby CNC with a footprint of 12"x15" and a working area of 6x5x3. Intended to be strong enough to mill wood and perhaps even soft aluminum, it can also be used with a plastic extruder to make it into a 3d printer.
For electronics either hobbycnc or makerbot brains. Motors are Nema23, linear motion is achieved by using steel rod and nylon bushings. Bushings could be replaced with linear bearings to make it more capable. This design is still being studied.
